KINGSTON, Jamaica - The taxi operator who allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl in Manchester is to this week face an identification parade.

Lascelles Taylor, head of the Manchester Police Division yesterday said investigators from the Centre of Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) have started to question the accused and were moving to place him in an ID parade.

"The questioning sessions have started and he is to face an ID parade sometime this week," Taylor said.

The taxi operator was arrested last Thursday after reports were made to the police that he molested the child while he was carrying her home from school.

The child alerted her parents and investigations led to the arrest of the man.

Police say they have also intensified their investigation in another rape case of a 16-year-old girl at Downs district in the parish on Sunday, October 7.

The police said the girl was attacked by a man while on her way home with a male relative.

Police reports are that she was held up by the man at gunpoint dragged into bushes and raped.

The male relative was not harmed.
