KINGSTON, Jamaica - Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller says the current Cabinet retreat will be used to review and finalise the growth and development agenda for the coming financial year and the country’s medium term outlook.

After the first of a three-day long retreat, Simpson Miller, in a brief statement from Jamaica House, said that the government was “committed to Jamaica’s growth, development and job creation.”

The retreat held at Jamaica House is expected to have the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) at the centre of discussions.

“The country needs to secure an IMF agreement as it will help to strengthen economic reform,” the statement said, adding that Cabinet was also given an update from the IMF negotiating team.
