Canadian man drowns in Jamaica

A Canadian who was on vacation in Jamaica is suspected to have drowned yesterday.

Dead is 52-two-year-old John 'Jackie' Botts of Prince Edward Island, Canada.

The Runaway Bay Police reported that about 2:20 pm, Botts went swimming and reportedly got into difficulties.

An alarm was made and he was taken from the water and to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Botts lived in Newmarket, Ontario and was a long time employee with the North York School Board and Pickering College. He was due to leave the island on August 1.

Investigations continue.
