A Chinese businesswoman and her son are now nursing injuries to the face following a botched robbery attempt in the Clarendon capital of May Pen early Wednesday morning.

Police said the two would-be robbers scaled a third floor balcony on top of the woman's businessplace on Main Street between the hours of midnight and 1:00 am, barged into the home and demanded money.

"The men hit the woman in her face and when her son went to her aid and he was also hit in the face. Both are nursing injuries," said Superintendent Carol McKenzie, head of operations for the parish.

During a struggle the woman and her son made an alarm and the robbers quickly left the premises.

"The robbers got nothing. When the commotion and noise began they fled the premises," McKenzie said.

The attack, police said, was the second on a Chinese business operators in May Pen in a week.
