Takes issue with NWC over contractors

CONTRACTOR General Greg Christie is to release a report into the fatal accident involving two workers contracted to the National Water Commission last week.
The workers were killed when mounds of dirt from a trench they were working in collapsed, trapping them beneath.
The men — 27-year-old Orlando Bennett and Kirk 'Corner Stone' Vernon, both of Barbican addresses — were contracted to lay sewer pipes.
A third worker who rushed to the scene in an attempt to rescue the men, was injured and had to be hospitalised.
Christie, speaking at a parliamentary committee meeting this morning, said his office had issues with the particular contractor used by the NWC.
