Clarendon woman chopped, burnt to death

A woman was chopped and burnt to death in Clarendon yesterday.

She has been identified as Marvalyn Cooke of a Bird's Hill address.

Police report that Cooke, 35, went to visit her boyfriend about 6:00 pm when an argument developed. She was reportedly chopped several times and her body set ablaze.

her body was found in bushes by residents who called the cops. Homicide detectives inspected the body and found that it had several chop wounds.

Her boyfriend was later taken into custody in connection with the macabre murder. His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
