In London, Simpson added another silver to her tally running the second leg of the 4x100 relay and placing second to the US.
Three other Jamaican Olympians are celebrating birthdays during the London Olympics — Nickiesha Wilson, Schillonie Calvert and Rosemarie Whyte.
Wilson was born in 1986 and her birthday was on July 28, one day after the official opening.
Calvert, born July 27, 1988 in St James competes in both the 100m and 200m and had her special day coinciding with the London opening.
National 400m-champion Whyte, born August 9, 1986 in Trelawny, earned a bronze in the 4x400 relay as a birthday gift.
