KINGSTON, Jamaica — Quick action by police foiled a robbery by criminals in New Kingston today.

"A group of gunmen went to a location on Oxford Place and attempted to steal a motor vehicle," a person who claimed to be eyewitness told the Jamaica Observer.

Reports are that policemen in the vicinity of the attempted robbery were alerted.

"This resulted in a high speed chase in the area," said the eyewitness who added that three men were held after the vehicle crashed into a median, which runs adjacent to the Police Transport and Repairs Centre.

"The police were in the area doing some business when the men came in the area and attempted to carry out the robbery," the eyewitness said.
