Several well-known personalities in the Corporate Area were among 100 people sworn in as new justices of the peace (JPs) by Custos Marigold Harding at a function at the Medallion Hall Hotel in
December. The custos said that despite the large number sworn in, the Kingston 11 and 13 areas were still short of JPs, but efforts would continue to fill the gap. Here Professor Oswald Harding (third
left), dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Technology (UTech), congratulates some of the new JPs (from left) Geraldene Arthurs, principal of Dunoon Technical High School; Alice Hyde, sales and
marketing manager at Caribbean Cement Company and a granddaughter of former Governor General Sir Clifford Campbell; Arlene Brown, marketing manager at CariMed; Teddy Price, actor and
pharmacist; and senior JP Silvera C Castro, civil registrar of marriage.
