Cunningham faces anti-doping commission today

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Ricardo Cunningham, Jamaica’s 800m champion, will face the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission’s (JADCO) disciplinary committee today.

Cunningham tested positive for pseudoephedrine, a substance found in most cold medicines, after the National Senior Trials in June where he won his pet event.

Another athlete, quarter miler Domonique Blake, who was a part of Jamaica’s Olympic team but did not run at the Games, will face the committee on the third, fourth and fifth of this month.

Blake’s case was adjourned when JADCO gave her the wrong documents and had to have them reissued.

Blake faces her second ban as she tested positive for the same stimulant, methylhexanemine, in 2006.

She received a nine-month ban then.
