Cunningham in Paralympics javelin final

LONDON, England - Jamaica's Alphanso Cunningham is easily through to the medal round of the men's F52/53 javelin at the 14th Paralympic Games at Olympic Stadium, to be held this morning.

Cunningham had a season's best 19.57m in his first round effort for 845 points to take his place in the top eight in third place.

After fouling his first effort in the first round, he then threw 18.48m, then a personal best.

Mexico's ParaPanAmerican champion Mauro Maximo de Jesus leads with 20.14m with Iran's Abdolreza Jokar next with 20.01m.
