Day care workers urged children to fight

Wednesday, August 22, 2012 | 10:11 AM

DELAWARE, USA (AP) — Three Delaware day care workers videotaped a fight between three-year-old children in their care and encouraged the toddlers to pummel each other as they laughed about it, according to court documents.

The three women were charged Monday with assault and other offences after Dover police obtained the video. Officials suspended the licence of their employer, the Hands of Our Future day care centre, the same day.

Officials say the incident occurred in March.

The mother of one of the children that police say is seen in the video says she is shocked by the allegations.

Crystal Slack says her daughter has told her that the daycare teachers have taught her that she should not hit back if someone hits her.
