Escaped prisoners still on the run

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Five prisoners are still on the run almost a week after they escaped from the Greater Portmore lockup in St Catherine.

The police told the Observer that the search continues for the men whose escape was discovered last Friday, October 26, after early-morning checks revealed that the bars and grille of their cell had been cut.

The escapees are 18-year-old Amir Hanson of Portmore Villa, Portmore, charged for shooting with intent; 19-year-old Andrew Edwards, charged with robbery with aggravation; 33-year-old Marvin Barnett of Spanish Town, charged with murder; 31-year-old Jomo Burnett of Gregory Park, St Catherine, charged for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition; and 34-year-old Oshane Thomas of Braeton, St Catherine, charged for illegal possession of firearm and robbery with aggravation.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Portmore Police at 949-8422, 911, or the nearest police station.
