Evicted, homeless

Wednesday, July 11, 2012

A group of about 80 Kenyans evicted from their homes in one of the city's largest slums, during 2007-2008 post-election violence, camp in the parking lot outside the offices of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights in Nairobi, Kenya, yesterday. Tired of being homeless for more that four years, the internal refugees decided to walk hundreds of kilometres to the Ugandan border with infants in tow but the Kenyan government forced them back to the city leading to yesterday's protest. The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights said the Kenyan government should allocate the internally displaced people land to settle on. (Photo: AP)
