Financial management consultant sues Gleaner
FINANCIAL management consultant and CEO of Capital Partners Ltd, Keith Senior, has filed a libel suit against The Gleaner Company Ltd claiming $8 million for continuing business losses and unspecified amounts for libel and aggravated damages.
In documents filed in the Supreme Court on July 9, 2014, Senior -- a former Jamaica Urban Transit Company chairman, as well as member of the board of governors of the Central Bank and the board of Air Jamaica -- claims that he was libelled by the newspaper in an article published on May 31, 2013.
The report in question, Senior said, was in relation to a document submitted to the Supreme Court dated April 16, 2012, which, he maintained, was published as the official findings of Justice Bertram Morrison.
Senior is claiming that the source document was the government attorneys' closing submissions (defendant's submissions) to the Supreme Court for its final hearing on April 20, 2012 in the case which he had brought against the Government of Jamaica for consultancy fees owed to him.
