Fire destroys Clarendon building

AN eleven apartment concrete dwelling owned by the Sugar Industry of Jamaica was destroyed by fire in Lionel Town, Clarendon this morning.

Reports from the Lionel Town Police are that about 2:00 am, there was a sudden loss of electricity in a section of the house, followed by smoke, then flames.

The police were alerted and two units from the Lionel Town Fire Department extinguished the blaze.

Loss is estimated at $6.5 million.
