Tuesday, December 18, 2012 | 3:00 PM
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Fire of unknown origin destroyed a five-bedroom house in Bayshore Road, Harbour View Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports the fire started at about 1:00pm.
Delores Murphy, an elderly resident who was the only one at home at the time said that she smelled smoke but thought someone was burning garbage.
She said that shouts from outside alerted her and upon vacating the building she realised that the entire front section was ablaze.
“I could only save my mattress and some clothes,” Murphy told the Observer.
An estimate of the damage was not known. The house was not insured.
