Fire destroys St Mary house

FIRE destroyed a six-apartment dwelling in Richards Pen, Retreat, St Mary yesterday.

Reports from the Retreat Police are that about 7:40 pm, occupants of the house saw fire coming from the roof of the bathroom and raised an alarm. One unit from the Port Maria Fire Station responded and put out the blaze.

Loss is estimated at $6 million, and it not yet known whether the house was insured.
