Fire destroys house in St James

Granville, St James — Fire of unknown origin destroyed a one-bedroom house in Retirement, Granville last night.
The Granville police report that about 9:00 pm, occupants of the house heard unusual sounds and were investigating when they discovered that the house was on fire.
The Freeport Fire Department conducted cooling down operations.
Loss is estimated at $500, 000. It is not yet known whether or not the building was insured.
