THE Denham Town Police seized a firearm at Moore Street, Kingston 13 during a police operation last evening.

No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

Police reports are that between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm, an operation was carried out in the community. During the operation, the weapon — a Heckle and Koch 9mm pistol serial number 27-038900 with 48 9mm cartridges — was found in bushes in an open lot.

Over in St Catherine, the Central Village Police seized 20 rounds of 5.56 cartridges at Windsor Heights last night.

Reports are that about 9:30 pm, a police team was on foot patrol in the area when several men were seen sitting by the roadway in an area known as ‘Elbow’. When approached, the men ran in different directions leaving behind a box. When the box was retrieved and searched, the cartridges were found.

Investigations continue.
