Firearm and ammunition seized in Old Harbour Bay

POLICE personnel from the Flying Squad seized an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition and arrested a man on McCleod Close in Old Harbour Bay, St Catherine yesterday.

Reports are that between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., the officers were on an operation in the area when upon searching a building, the weapon, a M1 Garand Rifle, six 0.3 rounds, and one 0.4 round, were seized.

The identity of the man is being withheld pending further investigations.
