KINGSTON, Jamaica — Keith Rhodd, father of former People’s National Party (PNP) Member of Parliament for Eastern Portland Donald Rhodd has died.

A release from the PNP said that news was received Thursday of the death of the elder Rhodd, who had also served as Member of Parliament for Eastern Portland.

“The news of the senior Rhodd's passing provides an opportunity for reflection on the service such patriots have given selflessly to establishing in Jamaica a better place and a better space in which we can all live,” the PNP release said.

“We thank the Rhodd family for their service to our country spanning several generations,” the release added.

A memorial service for Keith Rhodd is scheduled for January 11, 2014 in Portland.
