Former GG Howard Cooke is dead

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Former Jamaica Governor General Howard Cooke has died.
Cooke, a teacher in his early years and a Minister of Government during the 1970s, served as Governor General from August 1991 until February 2006.
He died at 98 years old Friday afternoon.
