GEORGETOWN, Guyana — Former Guyana police commissioner Henry Greene died today after his sport utility vehicle (SUV) was involved in a three-vehicle crash at Waller's Delight, West Coast Demerara.

Green, 58, was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he died.

Police said that nine-year-old Alicia Jamaldeen was also killed in the accident that left five other people injured.

The Guyana based Demerara Waves Online News said a truck and a car were also involved in the accident.

Greene retired in April, four months after he was accused of raping a 34-year-old mother at a city hotel.
