OCHO RIOS, St Ann -- The funeral service for the St Ann policeman who reportedly committed suicide earlier this month was held today, Sunday, July 28.

Sunday’s date for Constable Dave Shackleford’s funeral was allegedly in keeping with wishes he left behind in a note.

Family members, friends and members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) turned out at the Ocho Rios Seventh Day Adventist Church for the funeral service of the father of two.

Shackleford, who reportedly shot himself in the neck on July 9, died July 11 while being treated in hospital.

It is reported that the cop was in counselling just days before the incident and his firearm returned after it was declared that he was fit to carry a weapon.

Shackleford served the JCF for nine years stationed in the parishes of St Ann and Portland.
