Gang feud spurs increased policing in Denham Town

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Reports of gang activities in Denham Town, West Kingston have spurred an increase in police presence in sections of the community.

According to the police, in less than a month a feud between gangs in sections of Denham Town has claimed the lives of two people and left several others injured.

"We have received the reports and as a result the police continue to maintain a presence in the area to ensure that things are kept under control," a senior officer in the West Kingston Police Division told the Jamaica Observer today.

A curfew, in force until until 6:00pm tomorrow, has also been imposed covering sections of Wellington Street, Bond Street to North Street in the community.
