KINGSTON, Jamaica — Three hundred pounds of compressed ganja, a firearm and more than a dozen rounds of ammunition were seized by the police in Yallahs, St Thomas yesterday.
Two men were also taken into custody.
Reports are that the lawmen, who were on operation in Montpellier main road in the parish, signalled a station wagon motorcar to stop.
The driver complied but two men ran from the vehicle and escaped into bushes.
The vehicle was searched and the compressed ganja, a 7EG 9mm pistol and 15 rounds of ammunition were found.
The identities of the men are being withheld pending further investigations.
