Gas prices go up again
Thursday, January 03, 2013
THE State-owned oil refinery
company Petrojam Limited yesterday announced increases in the
ex-refinery prices of nearly all categories of fuel.
The prices of 87 and 90-octane gasolene have increased by $1.33 per litre, and as of today will be sold for $101.40 and $103.05, respectively.
Automotive diesel fuel has had a price increase of 72 cents, and will now be sold for $108.51 per litre.
A decrease of 50 cents will
see kerosene oil being sold for
$108.32 per litre.
Meanwhile, propane liquid petroleum gas will be sold for $35.65 per litre and butane liquid petroleum gas sold for $57.39 per litre, after price increases of $1.50 and 36 cents per litre, respectively.
Petrojam said the increases reflected "changes in US Gulf Reference prices and in foreign exchange rates". Retailers will add their mark-up to the announced prices.
Yesterday's round of increases was the third in as many weeks.
