The Jamaica 50 Golden Jubilee Village opens at Independence Park today.
The Village will have a main stage, piano bar, hundreds of performers and a Children’s Village geared at entertaining the 165,000 people projected to visit over the next six days.
“Because Jamaica has such a rich and vibrant cultural heritage, we have been challenged to encapsulate 50 spectacular years in six days”, said head of the Jamaica 50 Secretariat, Robert Bryan.
Activities begin at noon daily and entry is free to the public.
Visitors are being asked to park their vehicles at Jamaica College, King’s House and the Jamaica Defence Force headquarters at Up Park Camp and take the shuttle bus system to the venue.
The Park and Ride system begins at 1:00PM and ends at 2:00PM.
