GRADE 9 Marymount High School student Abigail Hyman died yesterday from a heart attack, shortly after fainting at the institution.

Hyman, the education ministry said, was taken to a health centre after collapsing at school.

A team of guidance counsellors was dispatched by the ministry to provide grief counseling, support and encouragement to the student and staff at the school.

The ministry also extended its condolences to the family of Hyman, students, teachers and administration of the Marymount High School.

"I pray that the peace of the Lord will be their strong shield and comfort," said Elaine Foster-Allen, permanent secretary at the Ministry of Education.

Education Minister Ronald Thwaites is scheduled to visit the school later this week.
