Finance Minister Peter Phillips (right) greets (from left) Prof E Nigel Harris, vice chancellor, University of the West Indies, and Professors Trevor Munroe and Brian Meeks of the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social & Economic Studies (SALISES) at the opening ceremony of the SALISES Conference "50-50: Critical Reflections in a time of Uncertainty" at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Monday. Minister Phillips delivered the address at the conference which reflected on the past 50 years since Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago gained Independence and proposing possible directions for the next 50.
