Guardsman awarded $200m security contract

KINGSTON, Jamaica - The Government has approved a contract to employ Guardsman Security Limited for over $200 million to provide security at some of Jamaica's recreational areas.

Information Minister Sandrea Falconer told reporters at today's Post Cabinet briefing that the contract was awarded to Guardsman for the provision of security services for two years to the following subsidiaries and properties of the Urban Development Corporation (UDC).

  • Dunn's River Falls and Park

  • Green Grotto Caves

  • Ocho Rios Bay Beach

  • Turtle River Park 

  • Laughing Waters

  • Roaring River

  • The St Ann Development Companies main office

  • The Ocean Village Shopping center and 

  • Ridge Falls

She said the company is to provide perimeter and preventative security, parking regulations among other services.
