Gunmen tackle cops in Union Gardens

KINGSTON, Jamaica - A team of policemen from the St Andrew South Division are scouring sections of the Union Gardens community following prolonged gunfight between cops and gunmen this morning.

Police report that they were on patrol in the community, which is between the Tinson Pen Aerodrome and Spanish Town Road, when they confronted a group of men.

The cops report that the men opened fire and they took evasive action returning the fire.

None of the cops were hurt and the gunmen made good their escape.
