Haitian woman killed by countryman in Trelawny, Jamaica

TRELAWNY, Jamaica -- A 44-year-old male Haitian was taken into police custody in connection with the murder of a Haitian woman who was reportedly killed during a fight in Rock, Trelawny Friday morning.

The police have identified the dead woman as 26-year-old unemployed Raymonde Alexis Brissett, who was living in Rock, Trelawny.

Reports are that about 11:45am, during a dispute between the two Haitians and a piece of steel was allegedly used to hit Brissett in the neck.

She was rushed to the Falmouth Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The suspect was subsequently taken into custody.
