Half-Way-Tree robbers nabbed after shootout

A .45 pistol and a .38 pistol, along with a car, cash and several stolen items were seized and two men held in police custody following a series of robberies in Half-Way-Tree, St Andrew this afternoon.

The identities of the men are being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports are that about 1:00 pm, the two men committed a spate of robberies at several shops within a two-hour span.

Detectives from the Flying Squad responded and a shootout ensued and culminated in Waterhouse, St Andrew, where the firearms and other stolen items, which included cigarettes and cash, were recovered. The scene was processed by the Scene of Crime Unit.

Investigations are ongoing.
