WORLD Homeless Day was recognised on October 10, and in an effort to help the homeless access screening services, the Heart Foundation of Jamaica partnered with the St Thomas Municipal Corporation for a health fair at the corporation's infirmary. Services like blood pressure checks and blood sugar tests were provided, and with the assistance of Food for the Poor, the homeless were given care packages that included towels, food items, toiletries and vitamins. At left, Heart Foundation's medical technician Cady-Ann Jackson checks a homeless man's blood pressure.
