High-powered rifle seized

INVESTIGATIONS are continuing today following an operation that led to the seizure of an AK47 Rifle and several rounds of ammunition in Arnett Gardens, Kingston 12 yesterday.
Reports are that about 12:45 p.m., a team of police personnel comprising members from the Organized Crime Investigation Division and the Mobile Reserve, conducted an operation in the area, during which, premises were searched, and the weapon – with the serial number erased – was found in a shed. Seventeen 7.62 mm rounds were also seized.
Five persons were taken into custody for questioning. They have since been released.
Investigations continue.
