Holness hails philanthropist Raymond Chang
LEADER of the Opposition Jamaica Labour Party Andrew Holness said yesterday that the party had learnt with great sadness and regret of the passing of the philanthropist G Raymond Chang.
Chang, who was ailing, died on Sunday in Canada.
"Ray Chang was a Jamaican whose business acumen, experience and skills made him a most highly regarded entrepreneur in Jamaica, Canada and the rest of the diaspora," Holness said in a statement yesterday.
"His support of academic and social institutions in Jamaica and Canada was a manifestation of his generosity in giving back in appreciation for those who had assisted him along the way. His was a life of inspiration to all Jamaicans. We shall miss him. We will always remember him for his selflessness, love and kindness to his homeland," added Holness.
The party leader offered condolences to Chang's wife, Donnette, his close family members and other relatives and his friends "during this time of great loss".
