HAGUE SETTLEMENT, Trelawny — The house in which the body of 23-year-old sales representative Toneva Forbes, was found wrapped in a sheet under a bed in Hague Settlement Monday afternoon was razed by fire, suspected to be the work of arsonists this morning.

After the woman’s body was discovered by the police, a man suspected of raping Forbes, then killing her, was found in bushes in a section of the community suffering from gunshot wounds. He has since been admitted in hospital under police guard.

The young female sales representative, of a Cambridge, St James address, was peddling her wares in the community when it is believed she was lured into a house and allegedly raped then killed.

During a police press conference hosted at the Wexford Court Hotel, Thursday, ACP Devon Watkis, head of the Area One police division, revealed that an autopsy report determined that Forbes was strangled to death.

He also disclosed that the police are conducting a separate investigation to determine the circumstances under which the suspect was shot.
