Illegal gun found downtown, five arrested

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Kingston Central Police last night seized an illegal firearm during their tour of duty.

Five men have been arrested in connection with the seizure.

The police report that about 9:00pm, a team of police officers was on Heywood Street in downtown Kingston when they apprehended the five men. 

A bag containing one .45 pistol, bearing serial number 278261 and loaded with seven 9mm cartridges was found. 

They were subsequently taken into custody and are to undergo question and answer sessions at a later date.
