KINGSTON, Jamaica — Telecommunication company LIME today renamed its Carlton Crescent headquarters in Kingston 'LIME Square' as part of celebration to mark Jamaica 50.

"Today, which is the eve of Emancipation we have dedicated this area as LIME square," said Grace Silvera, LIME's regional vice-president for marketing and corporate communications.

Silvera made the announcement during the event that drew scores of Jamaicans to view performances by some of the island's past festival-song performers, including Eric Donaldson.

Lisa Hanna, Minister of Youth and Culture and Kingston Mayor Angela Brown Burke headed the list of attendees.

"This company has been a part of the Jamaican landmark and the Jamaican culture for the past 140 years so this is really the genesis of telecommunication so we have dedicated this area," said Silvera.
