JDF chopper near-miss!

THE sight of this grounded Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) helicopter making its way through the Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine Friday evening, strapped onto this flatbed trailer, sparked rumours of a crash.

The JDF pilot flying it did, in fact, escape serious injury after he was forced to make an emergency landing in Guys Hill in the parish earlier that evening. Reports from highly placed JDF sources are that the pilot heard strange sounds coming from the helicopter and wisely decided to land in the first open spot of land he saw. The JDF source did not release the name of the pilot.

"I was making my way across Flat Bridge and became suspicious after I saw large group of police and military personnel in the area," one onlooker commented. However, rumours of a crash were quickly squashed by military sources.
