The Ocean Conservancy, a Washington DC-based environmental organisation, released its 2012 list of trash collected during its International Coastal Cleanup, with cigarette butts topping the list. More than 10 million pounds of debris was collected globally, more than 769,000 pounds collected in California alone.

The two were among 35 outstanding Grade Six Achievement Test students who were yesterday presented with scholarship awards by the JNBS at the banking hall of its Half-Way-Tree branch in St Andrew. Thirty of the students received five-year scholarships and the others special one-year scholarships.
