JPS power partner for Jamaica 50 Jubilee Village

Wednesday, August 01, 2012

JPS is the power partner for the Jamaica 50 Jubilee Village at Independence Park in Kingston.

The light and power company said in a news release that its president and CEO, Kelly Tomblin, gave a commitment to Minister of Youth and Culture Lisa Hanna to provide sponsorship towards the cost of electricity for the grand Jamaica 50 celebrations, which are expected to attract thousands of Jamaicans and visitors to the island.

“As the primary provider of electricity to the island, and a partner in national development even before Independence, JPS has to be a part of the Jamaica 50 celebrations,” Kelly told Hanna and Jamaica 50 Project Director Robert Bryan, with whom she signed the sponsorship agreement.

Following the signing, Bryan was taken on a tour of JPS’ Jamaica 50 exhibition at the company’s head office in New Kingston.
