JPS working to address power outages

Sunday, August 26, 2012 | 3:05 PM

THE Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) is working to restore power to several communities that have been affected by power outages since last night, as a result of the adverse weather conditions affecting the island.

The severe lightning storm, along with several hours of heavy rain, have resulted in damage to some sections of the power delivery system, JPS said.

The company is reporting several instances of trees falling on power lines due to landslides.
