CONSTABLE Rushon Hamilton has been freed of a charge of carnal abuse in relation to the schoolgirl he's convicted of murdering.
The charge against Hamilton was dropped last week in the Home Circuit Court when the matter was called up for mention.
Hamilton was charged in 2008 following allegations that he had sex with 14-year-old Jhaneel Goulbourne at the barracks of the police where he was assigned.
The teen was abducted from her Harbour View, St Andrew, home in October 2008.
Hamilton, meanwhile, was arrested and charged with murder. He was convicted last year October and sentenced to life imprisonment earlier this year.
Hamilton, 27, will have to serve 35 years of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
