Preview - Ja's medal rush continues tomorrow

Tuesday, August 07, 2012 | 3:56 PM

Jamaica is expected to increase its medal haul tomorrow when it competes in the women's 200m and 400m hurdles finals.

Many are predicting that the country could take yet another two medals in the sprint as it did in the 100m for men and women over the weekend.

But first, Hansle Parchment and Richard Phillips will be running against the clock to better their times, almost a necessity to make the final of the men's 100m hurdles.

Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake and Warren Weir will also be competing in the semis of the men's 200m where the Jamaicans are also favourite for multiple medals.

Veronica Campbell-Brown and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce headline the women's event alongside Americans Allyson Felix, Carmelita Jeter and Sanya Richards-Ross.

That scintillating final is set for 3:00PM.

However, that race won't get underway before Kaliese Spencer competes in the 400m hurdles 15 minutes earlier. Spencer is aiming to get her first global medal after finishing fourth at the last two World championships.
