Jatoo accuses Transport Authority of sabotage
Jamaica Observer
Saturday, May 14, 2011
The Jamaica Association of Transport Owners and Operators (JATOO) has accused the Transport Authority of sabotage.
In a release to the media the association said it was peeved at recent moves by the authority and called on the Prime Minister Bruce Golding, to intervene on their behalf.
"It is now very clear that the Transport Authority and the Government is trying to frustrate taxi and bus operators, and to get them out of the system. In recent weeks we have observed a new trend by the Transport Authority in the Kingston Metropolitan Transport Region holding several buses as if they are checking them and allowing the Jamaica Urban Transport Company buses to pick up passengers. This madness cannot be allowed to continue, and we are calling on the Prime Minister to intervene to save off any form of disruption in the industry," the release said.
