HEAD of the Department of Corrections Services, June Spence-Jarrett was fired today after her appearance before the Public Services Commission.
Spence-Jarrett had come under immense public scrutiny following the commission of inquiry that found her negligent over the fire which killed seven girls at the Armadale Facility for female wards of the state in St Ann.
Justice Paul Robinson, who chaired the inquiry, described her as 'uncaring and inhumane' for taking the decision to house 23 girls in a dormitory fit to be occupied by no more than five persons.
