Kartel yet to turn self in

By TANESHA MUNDLE, Observer staff reporter

Thursday, July 01, 2010

ENTERTAINER Vybz Kartel is yet to turn himself in to police, two days after the cops named him as a major person of interest and asked that he report to them.

Kartel's lawyer Christian Tavares Finson said minutes ago that his client had yet to turn himself in.

He said he would keep the Observer posted about his client's actions.

Kartel twice promised to make himself available this week — promising yesterday and then this morning that he would have reported to the police. But so far he hasn't kept his word.

The controversial artiste, who is head of the St Catherine-based Portmore Empire, has said that he is clueless about why the police would want to speak with him and maintained that that there are moves afoot to tarnish his name.
